The band club building started life as 4 back to back cottages which were originally built in 1796.  The club opened in it’s early form in 1883 and following a number of purchases over the years (not to mention a fire), the club developed into the building we use today. The band club celebrated its centenary 1983.

The club stewards serve a selection of beers, wines and spirits along with CAMRA and Cask Marque recognised cask ales. The stewards were awarded East Lancashire Club of the Year by CAMRA in April 2019 for their wonderfully kept cask ales. This award has pride of place amongst their previous awards received over the years.

We are extremely proud to be the ‘home’ of the Whitworth Vale and Healey Brass Band who rehearse upstairs in the band-room each Tuesday and Thursday between 8pm and 10pm so why not come along for a drink and listen to the band rehearsing!

The club is run by a members committee who are appointed at the AGM each year. Whilst the stewards are responsible for the day to day running of the bar, the committee is responsible for all other aspects of running the club including premises management, entertainment bookings and finances.

We regularly have performances from a variety of artistes from local bands such as the resident Whitworth Vale and Healey Brass Band, The Spodden Valley Stompers, The Idleburgers, Between the Vines, and other local bands/artists, to solo artists who have also worked on cruise ships.
